Transdev Dublin Light Rail
Operator and Maintainer of Luas, Dublin’s Light Rail Network
Transdev Dublin Light Rail is a leading operator and global integrator of mobility, committed to sustainable, inclusive public transport for all passengers.
We create, develop, and manage innovative mobility solutions for Luas. Our expertise includes understanding our passenger and Dublin’s commuter needs, mobile applications, and environmentally friendly solutions, positioning Luas as a key player in Dublin.
The Luas network comprises two tram lines, the Luas Red Line (21km long) and the Luas Green Line (22km long) which interchange in Dublin city centre. The Luas network has 69 stops and a fleet of 81 trams (a mix of Alstom Citadis, 401, 402, and 502 series trams).
Over 650 million passenger journeys have been completed since 2004. This year we are on target to transport over 50 million passengers, making Luas one of the busiest light rail operations globally in terms of numbers of passengers per number of trams.
Every day is a busy day, with over 139,000 passengers travelling on daily basis. Luas is second only to Dublin Bus in terms of passenger journeys taken on the island of Ireland.
Over the last twenty years of operations TDLR has successfully overseen four Luas network extensions, an extensive programme of community projects, and the growth of our team to over 700 people representing 21 nationalities.
Twenty years later and we still have an excellent customer satisfaction rating of *97%.
