Relax and discover England’s most festive city with cut-price tickets for locals.

York’s leading open top bus tour operator, CitySightseeing York, is unwrapping an early festive gift to its home city – a unique Christmas themed tour bus taking families on a magical journey of discovery, with discounted tickets for locals!

The specially-decorated open top tour bus – bright red to match Santa’s costume – is now offering visitors and local residents the chance to escape the crowds and enjoy an unrivalled view of all the city’s major sights without the hassle of driving.

A festive live guide shares entertaining stories and historic glories of York in Christmases past with everyone on board the newly launched seasonal tour – and locals who bring along proof of their home address in the city or a York Card can ride as often as they like for 24 hours for just £10.

York’s magical Christmas bus now runs every hour through the daytime, seven days a week until Sunday, 22 December, with journeys leaving the tour bus stand at Exhibition Square, opposite Bootham Bar, at 8 minutes past each hour.

All our team are already excited about getting York’s party started early with a bus-load of festive fun for everyone – our seasonal family tour is a real Christmas cracker!

York is always very busy at this time of year, and our Christmas tour bus is the ideal way to take a break from the crowded shopping streets and relax as our entertaining tour guide brings England’s most Christmassy city to life.

When it’s cold outside, that’s no problem as our customers can wait for their tour bus in the warm glow of our historic Bootham Tower HQ – and we’ll offer free hot chocolate and a mince pie to keep everyone happy on our sparkling Christmas bus.

Our tour bus team have even lined up something special for those who might be finding all the festivities a little too much – an invitation to our alternative tour at 38 minutes past each hour, which will not include even a single mention of the word ‘Christmas’ – ideal for the Grinch in your family!
