Transdev Sweden has become the first bus company in the country to offer free menstrual protection in the workplace, benefiting its 1,400 employees in northern Stockholm.
The initiative, launched in partnership with RedLocker, addresses the need for basic sanitary products as an essential right, comparable to toilet paper. This move, led by Linn Wennerström (Head of Business Support) and Matilda Sjöblom (Market Developer), aims to improve gender balance, promote equality, and make the bus driving profession more accessible to women.
RedLocker dispensers have been installed at 13 depots and rest areas across northern Stockholm, ensuring access during bus drivers’ scheduled breaks. Transdev’s leadership hopes the initiative will attract more women to the industry and serve as a milestone for gender equality in public transportation.
