Over 60 women, including school leavers and career changers, gathered at Circular Quay. It was an exciting opportunity to discover careers at sea. They embarked on a Manly Ferry for an unforgettable day of exploration and insight into the maritime industry.

Inspiring women took the floor to offer a unique perspective on the various roles surrounding ferries. From General Purpose Hands to Engineers and Masters, the team provided an inside view of what it takes to excel in these vital positions.

The participants also had the opportunity to hear from two distinguished industry professionals: Nicole Allen from TAFE NSW and Roberta Hulley from Superyacht Crew Academy. They provided essential insights into the educational pathways and qualifications required for success in the maritime industry. This guidance enabled attendees to better understand their options for launching a rewarding career at sea

The Women in Maritime Open Day is just one example of how Transdev Australia is actively promoting gender diversity and encouraging women to pursue rewarding careers in the maritime industry. The goal is to create a future where women not only thrive but lead and innovate within this dynamic field.
