Starting on November 15, 2015, Transdev, already a passenger transportation operator at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle Airport since 2001, will operate all shuttles between the various terminals airside, and between the car parks and terminals landside. “This significant new success, following on from the freight and logistics business won in 2014 by Transdev and the automatic metro contract in early 2015, is confirmation of the trust Aéroports de Paris has in the company and its teams,” says Thierry Varin, Director Airport Business Greater Paris Region Transdev.
This contract represents annual sales of more than €15 million. Forty new Mercedes vehicles (8 articulated and 10 standard buses for landside services, and 22 standard buses for airside services) and a latest-generation operation assistance and passenger information system (SAEIV) will be put into service for this contract’s renewal. In 2014, operations cumulated 71,540 “commercial” hours and 1,500,000 kilometers a year landside, and 87,600 “commercial” hours and 1,400,000 kilometers airside for services provided 24/24 landside and 22/24 airside.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and to be able to provide Aéroport de Paris with our expertise in managing very dense, multi-modal transportation networks. Transdev is expanding in this specialist area of transportation at airports, which are at the crossroads of mobility in the heart of regions’ economic activity, and places service safety, quality and continuity in all circumstances at the heart of its proposals,” explains Laurence Broseta, Director France for Transdev.
Active in the airport transportation sector for many years, Transdev manages a considerable variety of activities: airport management and transportation services, passenger and flight crew transportation airside, parking and inter-terminal shuttles, freight and logistics, and transportation to and from airports. In France, the company operates in the Greater Paris region at Roissy, Orly and Beauvais airports, and in Lyon, Nice, Perpignan and Carcassonne; and internationally in the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, and London in the United Kingdom.
