In this interview, Barbara Stoll gives us the keys to sustainable urban mobility.
Sustainable urban mobility rests on 4 pillars:
- We need to enable people to reclaim public space where cars rule, to help communities flourish.
- We need to encourage active mobility: we need to encourage people to walk and cycle, and even use scooters. To do this, we need more infrastructure.
- The third pillar is to promote and invest in public and shared transport. Any healthy urban fabric must be based on a solid network of accessible and affordable public transport.
- For all journeys that can’t be made any other way, people must have access to electric vehicles. Ideally, these vehicles should be small and shared.
