This week, Transdev conducted an emergency crisis exercise in collaboration with key stakeholders. Partners included An Garda Síochána, Dublin Fire Brigade, the National Ambulance Service, the HSE, TII, and Irish Rail. The event took place at The Wayfinding Centre in Glasnevin, Dublin.

The exercise simulated emergencies affecting both the Irish Rail and Luas networks in the heart of Dublin. It provided an opportunity to assess how these incidents would impact transport operations and the wider city. By testing Transdev’s crisis management plan, the event helped evaluate the effectiveness of interagency responses in a crisis.

The focus was on managing public concerns and operational challenges with a central theme: “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”. We wanted to reinforce the need for thorough crisis planning. The exercise also emphasized the importance of teamwork, communication, and preparedness.

Transdev values the contributions of all stakeholders involved. That is why we extend our thanks to An Garda Síochána, Irish Rail, and all observers for their active participation. Special recognition also goes to John Brophy from Reidy Brophy, our facilitator, and all stakeholders who helped design and execute the scenario.

This exercise was a crucial step in ensuring that all parties are well-prepared for a real-life crisis. Transdev remains committed to enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and public confidence through continuous preparation and collaboration.
