Transdev John Holland trained apprentice Matthew Geary has won Apprentice of the Year at the recent BusNSW Awards.

The 35-year-old mechanic completed his Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology certification through Western Sydney TAFE with Transdev’s backing.

At Transdev John Holland, he maintained a large bus fleet at Waverley depot before transitioning to CDC NSW.

This certification adds to his previous qualifications in Vehicle Body Building and Automotive Air Conditioning from 2012. His outstanding performance and commitment earned him a BusNSW recognition. The apprentice, who is among 200 trainees supported by Transdev Australia-wide, noted that technical education has created new opportunities, particularly with the emergence of electric transport.
