This year the Australasia Bus and Coach Expo was hosted by Bus New South Wales in Sydney. Held at the Sydney Showgrounds, this peak industry event was a showcase of the best in bus and coach operations and technology.

At this year’s edition there was a strong focus on electric and hydrogen buses, innovation, and technology as well as an ode to history with the Sydney Bus Museum displaying a vintage double decker bus.

The industry change towards embracing and implementing ZE technology continues to gain pace. It’s clear that Transdev’s focus and ambition to provide sustainable, quality bus services align with the market’s ability to manufacture and supply the fleet and infrastructure that this momentous technological change requires.

Ian Craig, Transdev’s Chief Officer Bus Operations

Transdev New South Wales’ E-bus was one of many of the newer zero emission vehicles on display with key bus industry suppliers Volvo, Scania and Mercedes out in force.

Transdev Australasia bus teams from Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Wellington were represented and it was an extra special moment for our Transdev New South Wales team who received the coveted Bus Safety Award.

Presented at the Bus New South Wales Gala Dinner this award recognizes Transdev New South Wales’s outstanding results in implementing a range of innovative Workplace Health & Safety strategies and solutions such as:

  • “It’s Just Not Worth It,” “Get a Grip,” “GEM” and “Going for Care” campaigns which helped deliver reductions in the number of workplace incidents, injuries and motor vehicle accidents.
  • Their robust processes, including education and recognition programs; our commitment to driver training; enhanced fatigue management and incident investigation, notably the provision of ongoing mental health workshops and wellbeing initiatives, particularly during the pandemic

Congratulations Transdev New South Wales team!
