Specially created “All the Colors of Transdev” facemasks prove a big hit with customers across northern UK.
Transdev Blazefield’s specially designed facemasks featuring all the colors of its services across northern UK have raised over £2,400 (approximately €2,600) for National Health Services (NHS) Charities – with more to come as sales continue.
On Monday 15 June, the day the UK Government instructions to wear face coverings when using public transportation were introduced, Transdev began offering its designer “All the Colors of Transdev” facemasks online and at its bus stations.
The colorful facemasks quickly proved a big hit with customers in Yorkshire and Lancashire – so much so that extra supplies had to be ordered to keep pace with rapidly rising demand.
We’ve always set out to make our buses places people want to be seen, and the same unique touch of style we’ve become famous for went into the design of our ‘All the Colors of Transdev’ facemasks.
Our customers tell us they really like the bright and stylish appearance of our facemasks, and that they can be washed and used again and again, which is much better for the environment than disposable masks. They also encourage all those who can to wear a facemask every time they travel with us, and as more and more people continue to come back to the bus, that’s good news for everyone.
We’re delighted by the positive response from our customers, and thanks to their generosity in buying our facemasks, we’ve now been able to present the first cheque to NHS Charities Together, with more to come as sales of our facemasks continue.
Alex Hornby, Transdev CEO
Alex Hornby has now presented a cheque for £2,475 – the first wave of proceeds from sales of the washable and reusable face coverings – to Community and Events Fundraiser Georgia Hudson, on behalf of NHS Charities Together, who support NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients nationwide.
A huge thank you to the team at Transdev for their incredible fundraising. We are so grateful to everyone involved in the creation of these face coverings and would like to extend our thanks to each and every person who so kindly donated.
Your donations continue to make a massive difference in supporting NHS charities across the UK, enabling them to go the extra mile for staff, volunteers, and patients during this difficult time.
Annabelle David, NHS Charities Together Fundraising Officier
The “All the Colors of Transdev” face coverings are available online at: shop.transdevbus.co.uk for just £4.50 each. A bundle of five of the washable and reusable coverings is also available for £15 – with postage and packaging included in the price of both options. They are also available at most local bus stations.
The success of Transdev’s colorful face coverings follows a poll of more than 1,000 of its customers, in which nine out of ten commuters declared themselves ready to return to its buses. The results are profiled in detail in this specially made Transdev ‘Back to Bus’ video.
