Since 2019, Elke Van den Brandt has served as Minister for Mobility, Public Works and Road Safety within the government of the Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium. She also oversees social inclusion and health within the Joint Community Commission (COCOM). As a member of the green party Groen (formerly Agalev), she was elected to the Brussels Parliament in 2009 and later became a member of the Flemish Parliament. She is an expert in urban issues such as air pollution, traffic congestion and road safety.
