Transdev’s light rail operation in Barcelona, TRAM, and the Marianao Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement to help fund Project David, a social action project that provides legal advice and support for the inhabitants of the Baix Llobregat area without resources and who have legal and/or penal issues.

The financial contribution from TRAM will help guarantee the project’s professional structure to provide free services to vulnerable families who need legal and psychological help to overcome imprisonment and social reintegration.

The foundation’s team features a criminal lawyer, a social educator and criminologists, who cover all the needs throughout the penal path, from legal issues to prison time to help after being released and fighting stigmatization.

Transdev in Barcelona has also committed to providing spaces to raise awareness of Project David on its corporate channels so as many people as possible hear about this social equality service.

Marianao Foundation was established in the 1980s by a group of mostly young people from the Marianao neighborhood of Sant Boi de Llobregat who wanted to find alternative solutions, through volunteering, to the serious issues facing children and young people due to the lack of facilities and social resources. The organization currently has several units that provide free aid to at-risk families, children and young people, a scholarship program, social inclusion services and community activities.

Ensuring equal opportunities and social integration have been some of the goals TRAM Corporate Social Responsibility has focused on since it was created. The company partners with over 30 organizations each year to help improve society in several arenas.
