TRAM, Transdev’s light rail operation in Barcelona this month signed a partnership agreement to sponsor three INSERCOR teams, in which persons with physical and intellectual disabilities practice inclusive soccer.
The agreement was signed with the Unió Esportiva de Cornellà through which TRAM becomes a sponsor of INSERCOR, a social project of inclusive soccer that for the last 5 years has been part of the club’s sections.
Joaquim Bestit, Managing Director of TRAM and Alex Talavera, President of Unió Esportiva de Cornellà signed the agreement this past Sunday. The special event was also attended by a group of players from the INSERCOR section who proudly showed the sports facilities to Joaquim.
From now on, thanks to the collaboration of TRAM, the three teams of the INSERCOR section formed by 44 people with physical and intellectual disabilities will wear the TRAM logo on their equipment during practices and matches. With this agreement, TRAM continues to develop its Social Responsibility Plan and aligns itself with the Sustainable Development Goals as well as with the Group’s Purpose of “Empowering freedom to move every day, thanks to safe, reliable and innovative solutions that serve the common good.”
Unió Esportiva Cornellà, founded in 1951, is a historic club in Catalan soccer. It currently has more than a thousand athletes, in both male and female categories, including the three INSERCOR teams, a social project of inclusive soccer thanks to which people of different ages and with physical and intellectual disabilities practice sports.
