Every day, these services empower the mobility of underserved communities and passengers requiring a special care.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, they have become a crucial link for people in need, and a powerful emergency response mean to fight back the pandemic.
In Lansing, Michigan, Transdev’s client, Capital Area Transit Authority (CATA), is joining the list of partnerships Transdev is establishing across the U.S. to deliver essential services to our neighboring communities.
In the short time since it was launch, the service is averaging approximately 600 trips per day.
With CATA, Transdev is assisting with:
- Transportation of essential workers to their job
- Delivery of meals to those in need
- Coordination and transport of registered passengers to their medical appointment or grocery shopping
This coordination effort was accomplished in record time. The local team received the request to assist on a Friday afternoon, they created a run schedule which was selected over the weekend, and by Sunday afternoon all routes were covered.
