In addition to direct trains to popular Zell am See, there will also be connections to an additional 8 ski resorts in Austria. The journey home is a week later on Saturday evening with arrival in Denmark and Sweden on Sunday.
Departures to Austria will start in early February 2021, which includes the winter breaks in both Sweden and Denmark. The night trains will run on green electricity, from water, wind or solar power, making the journey especially sustainable. The night train will consist of 6-bed compartments where you spend the evening and then transform into beds during the night. Also included on the journey is Snälltåget’s famous restaurant car « Krogen » where guests can enjoy food and drinks during the trip.
To make it easy to book the entire ski trip by train, accommodation, transfer and lift pass, Snälltåget has entered into a collaboration with Skinetworks, which is the Nordic region’s largest travel organizer of ski trips, which includes the well-known brands Nortlander and Slopetrotter.
We know there is a great interest in traveling by train for skiing holidays and through our collaboration with Skinetworks we are convinced that this investment will be successful.
Marco Andersson, Marketing Manager for Snälltåget
At Skinetworks we have listened to what has been said in the recent climate debate and are therefore proud to be able to offer a more climate friendly and comfortable travel alternative to our guests. For that reason, we go “all-in” and have bought over 1,100 seats on the Snälltåget during the 2021 season. We do this to ensure that as many guests as possible have the opportunity to choose a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation.
Toke Hyldgaard, Sales and Marketing Director at Skinetworks
The train will stop in Wörgl, St Johann in Tirol, Zell am See, St Velt, Lend and Bischofshofen. By changing trains or ground transfer you can proceed to St Anton, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Bad Gadstein and Wagrain for example. Snälltåget also sells journeys with its own connecting train from and to Stockholm, Södertälje, Norrköping, Linköping, Nässjö and Alvesta.
For package travel by train, the reservation opened on June 25 at both Nortlander.se and Slopetrotter.se. From July it will also be possible to book only the train journey at Snälltåget’s website. To access the website in English click here.
