The industrial partnership between Transdev and Lohr allows capitalizing on the know-how of two French companies, acclaimed as leaders in their respective fields. Built on the basis of the Lohr Cristal electric shuttle, i-Cristal takes full advantage of Transdev’s experience as an operator of mobility services to conceive a new transport mode offering optimized ease of access, interior layout and passenger interfaces. This experience is a live preview of tomorrow’s shared mobility: more comfortable, accessible to all, in all places and without constraints.
Press release
DownloadThe two companies have embedded Transdev’s on-board intelligence technology known as Transportation Technology by Transdev, developed with Transdev’s ecosystem of partners which includes the best research centers and leading-edge industrial companies in the fields of autonomous vehicles. This objective of this technology is to allow i-Cristal to seamlessly blend into urban traffic with the highest safety standards, at a maximum speed of 50 km/h.
With a maximum capacity of 16 passengers, the i-Cristal shuttle is fitted with a fast-charging system allowing for a half-charge in 30 minutes and full-charge in 90 minutes. i-Cristal is the result of the combined know-how of Lohr and Transdev in the conception and operation of public transport vehicles, which are fully in line with regulatory and registration constraints.
In France, during this winter, the first public trials of the i-Cristal shuttle integrated
into the Autonomous Transport System (ATS) by Transdev will take place : in Paris-
Saclay, within the EVAPS project (Eco-mobilité par Véhicules Autonomes Paris-
Saclay), and in Rouen in the frame of the Rouen Normandy Autonomous Lab project.
For Thierry Mallet, Chairman & CEO of Transdev: “Our vision of mobility is PACE:
Personalized, Autonomous, Connected et Electric & Eco-friendly. With the Lohr Group
and i-Cristal, Transdev takes a further step towards the autonomous revolution. This
revolution will see the advent of new mobility solutions which will be flexible, clean
and accessible to all and everywhere. I am convinced that shared autonomous
vehicles will rapidly become central in the global public transport offering, allowing
their development for the benefit of the greatest number.”
For Robert Lohr, Founding President of Lohr Group: “Thanks to this partnership with
Transdev, Lohr Group, long committed to the development of new generation
transport solutions Lohr crosses a new frontier to bring self-driving electric vehicles to
the market very quickly and easily integrated into urban space.”
