Summer Season 2014 Versailles Express shuttles visitors to the palace of Versailles

Versailles Express, the line of upscale coaches connecting Paris to Versailles, launched two new offerings today to enable passengers to fully enjoy events at the palace of Versailles, including its summer program.

For the start of the summer season, the palace of Versailles offers visitors a rich program of exhibitions and shows. China at Versailles, Art and Diplomacy in the 18th Century, traces the history of political and artistic exchanges between the two countries during the 18th century. At the Grand Trianon, the exhibition Marine Museum Collections of Imperial Navy Models presents 16 unique models of warships from the Napoleonic fleet, a collection of masterpieces by the arsenals’ carpenters, started in 1810 by the Emperor himself. In the gardens, Château Versailles Spectacles proposes a unique and dynamic offering. The subsidiary of the palace’s Public Establishment, the museum and national estate of Versailles invites visitors to explore the sculpture of Korean artist Lee Ufan, who entrances through his silent poetry. In addition, the Fountain Night Shows return for the summer, offering a joyful, baroque stroll to explore the gardens and groves to the music of the 18th century.

Beginning July 4, 2014, Versailles Express, Visual Group’s new upscale bus line, is allowing visitors to journey year-round to the palace of in comfort aboard its double-decker vehicles, decorated with the colors of Versailles and offering a background of baroque music. For the summer season, it offers:

  • A half-day at Versailles, departing from the Eiffel Tower at 8:00 a.m. and returning around 12:30 or departing at 2:00 p.m. and returning at 6:00 p.m. for € 29 round trip
    (or € 44 with entrance to the palace)
  • Full day at Versailles with departure at 8:00 a.m., returning at 6:00 p.m. for € 39 round trip (or € 79 with entrance to the palace and access to the gardens, fountains, Mini Train and the Trianons)
  • Transportation for the Fountain Night Shows with departures at 6:45 p.m. from Madeleine and 7:15 p.m. from Etoile, returning at 11:30 p.m. for € 29 round trip.

The VersaillesExpress.com project received support from strategic partners PARISCityVISION, OpenTour and the Vedettes de Paris, which are the official distribution network. It is also a recommended mode of access by the palace of Versailles and Chateau Versailles Spectacles.
