The contracts provide for the operation of 125 buses, in the areas of Bruntál, Krnov, Nový Jicin and Rýmarov, for a period of 10 years, starting in December 2018. The new Transdev bus services will cover a total capacity of 7.7 million kilometers per year.

For these contracts, Transdev will invest some €20 million in a new fleet of buses, which will be offering customers state-of-the-art equipment on-board, including: low-floor access, air conditioning, LCD infotainment screens, USB charging plugs and Wi-Fi services.

Thanks to our customized services and our long-lasting bus expertise, we are very proud to re-enter into the Czech Republic, successfully winning new business in a highly competitive public transport market. We intend to offer high-quality bus services, for which we are renowned around the world.

states Thierry Mallet, Chairman and CEO of Transdev Group

In order to operate on the Czech transportation market, Transdev Czech Republic was founded in January 2018, as a subsidiary of the Transdev Group, with planned staffing of more than 200 employees. The Czech operations are managed by Radim Novák, an experienced transportation key executive with a successful track record at leading transportation companies in the country.

This is the first milestone in the future development of Transdev Group in the Czech Republic. Transdev expects to continue growing in the bus field and on a more long-term perspective expects to compete in the rail market.
