Integration through rugby

Enfants jouant au rugby

Sport: Rebonds! association's project

Why this project?

Rebonds! association uses rugby as an integration tool for young people aged 6 to 17 from disadvantaged neighborhoods or isolated rural areas. Faced with the obstacles limiting access to sports clubs, the association has created the “Project Integration Rugby”, school and extracurricular educational programs with individualized follow-up called “Rebonds follow-up”.

Rugby serves as a vehicle for socialization, openness and personal development, rather than being an end in itself. Initially based in Toulouse, the association has expanded to other regions, including Hérault since 2017, due to the success of its approach.

How the association works

The project has 2 main focuses:

  • Education: rugby cycles are organized in schools, leisure centers and specialized facilities, in collaboration with teachers and educators.
  • Integration: interested young people are integrated into partner clubs and benefit from “Rebonds! follow-up”, an individualized support program to help them overcome various difficulties (sporting, social, health, financial, academic, etc.).
