In many regions in the Netherlands, Transdev already operates hundreds of battery electric buses, taxis and even autonomous shuttles. But sustainability is tailor-made; we have to make sure we find the best solution for each specific user case.

Hoeksche Waard/Goeree-Overflakkee is a region where the buses from Transdev’s subsidiary Connexxion service cities and villages, but also need to cover greater distances in rural areas.

That’s where the 20 brand-new Solaris hydrogen powered buses come in. Because of their range, they can efficiently cover a large area. These new buses run on green hydrogen and therefore emit no harmful pollutants. This way Transdev contributes even further to a clean and sustainable environment!

The buses refuel at a recently constructed hydrogen filling station in Heinenoord, which has been established in cooperation with the Province of Zuid-Holland and Everfuel. The filling station is one of the largest in Europe and paves the way for the use of even more hydrogen powered vehicles in the future !
